Blue Skies

April 7th, 2009

Well, it’s not really blue nowadays with the random rain and all but hey this article has nothing got to do with the sky nor blue anyways. Ok, so I’ve changed the site colour to blue. Thats about it. Pretty tired to do anything anyways. Being stuck in campus for most of the day either doing assignments or having lab experiments or studying for exams or having radish realated meetings really isn’t too good for my health I believe.

Sigh…and here I thought I can use the coming weekend to relax a little and take some time to do my assignments but NO!!! I have to work at PC Fair standing for over 10+hours for 3 days serving customers the best choice to suit their needs. Damn my greed for the greens.

I now leave you with a cute picture of what I’m like right about now represented by a XBOX360-tan.

And oh, I’m working for Microsoft this weekend.

Projects, assignments and teamwork

September 23rd, 2008

Finally after quite a hiatus due to work and by work I mean assignments, projects and classes I’m back. But now since classes are over and everything else is almost done there’s finally time for me to scribble something in this ol’blog of mine.

In university, teamwork is a very important aspect in achieving ones goal or objective. Task such as group work or group based assignments are one of the fundamental teachings of university life. That is to say it was their intention but now for a lot of students its more of a curse than a blessing. In a team based assignment or project everyone is given a specific task to do and with it there will be less work and more time to do other stuff. It makes plenty of sense and in the real world teamwork is the basis of any organization. But what if some of you teammates are practically useless? Then all I can say is that you’re pretty much fucked.

You’re much so when your teamates has no initiative at all and always uses excuses upon excuses to delay the job making your life and other miserable in the end. And when you can’t wait any longer you do the work yourself and he/she begs you to put their name on the report as well.

I think many of us has experience this kinds of incidences one way or another and although its easy to say that we can just cancel the lazy names out but sometimes it does not work that way. Why? Cause the lecturer will say that its a ‘project’ and if your group member or partner isn’t doing much it only means that you have bad management and leadership skills and you won’t get a good mark for a lack of teamwork.

I hate that when it happens…don’t you?
