In this season of joy lets put our differences aside and sit together for a glass of wine and laughter. One thing I learned from doing A Christmas Carol is that the spirit of Christmas is in each and everyone of us and it is only fitting that we share the joy of Christmas with everyone.
These days I’m so busy with so many things to do at once with studies on one hand and social responsibility on the other it pretty surprising to see that I’m still alive and kicking albeit like a almost dead cockroach lah. Anyway, with my stage production coming up its about time that I join in the bandwagon to promote it as well. With the year coming to an end & the festive season just round the corner, it’s time to slow down, unwind … and revel in the celebrations!
KLPac invites you & your loved ones to experience the magic, warmth and spirit of the festive season with a classic by Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol. You may know it as the Mickey or Muppet Christmas Carol seen on TV but the storyline is surely a familiar for many.
Follow the miserly but extremely wealthy Ebenezer Scrooge who hated the humbug of Christmas as he is taken on a journey through past, present and future. As he enters the lives of Tiny Tim, Bob Crachit and the Fezziwigs, he comes to know the meaning of kindness, charity and goodwill. His metamorphosis is sure to warm hearts and is perhaps one of the main reasons why, more than a century on,A Christmas Carol remains one of the most popular and best-loved tales.
Playing the mean old Scrooge is Darius Taraporvala, last seen in The Actors Studio’s Sybil, who will be backed by a 26-strong ensemble. And unique to this production is a mini orchestra, led by Music Director Nick Choo, performing original music set to traditional lyrics as well as new arrangements of classic carols likeSilent Night.
