My sister the Miss World Malaysia Finalist. WHAT??!!!

September 30th, 2009

Yes, you read correctly. When she first told me that she qualified for the Miss World Malaysia finals I went ‘OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!’. Shocked I was. Happy for her I was but reservations about this kind of competition still lingers in my head. I used to think that this type of contest was rigged or had really dumb blonds in it and that it degrades women to mere sex objects. BUT, this time the theme is a little different. Themed ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ this years finalist are (according to my sister) smart, strong and women with a mission to make society a better place.

But just as any other big brother I have to give her my fullest support and thats where I need you guys to help. Its easy. Come one down to Sunway Pyramid concourse area this Friday (2nd October 2009) at 8.00PM 7.00PM to give your support to her. Its at the concourse area so its free too! Senang kan?

You can view webisodes of what the girls are enduring during their bootcamp before THE day itself here. Now if you would excuse me I’ll need to make placecards for the event. T___T

I’m so gonna need some people to help hold up those 5 cards…

Selamat Hari Raya

September 19th, 2009

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim/Malay friends Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir dan Batin cause I’m as usual lazy to write greeting cards then sending it out to everyone.

Please buckle up if you’re driving back to you kampung and heed the traffic regulations please? A safe journey back would really make it a Selamat Hari Raya. Oh, and here’s Miku wishing you Selamat Hari Raya too!

Nothing beats enjoying rendang, lemang, soto ayam, sambal, satay, lontong, *drools* and other delicacies with your family members this raya. Now I’m feeling hungry all of a sudden.

With hugs,
Chris

A mid-summer internship report

September 14th, 2009

If I could sum the entire couple of months in one word it would be ‘boredom’. Its a little over a month left to go before I complete this period of so called industrial training and I do not feel that I’ve learned enough to even fill 5 minutes of a presentation. Heck, things has been so slow I could practically complete an entire week’’s work in a day. I had to crap alot in my log book. So much so everyday has only a line of words to describe my activities for the day. A very short one in fact. Sometimes I do not even have anything to do for the entire day. Tempting as it is to honestly put “Today I went online and Facebook’ed.” into it I figure the university won’t be so much so appreciating of such an over honest student in their midst… or would they? Hmm…

But looking at the blogs and facebook pictures of my friends during this free times like Winston and Khai Ling makes me wonder what would happen if I was having my industrial training a.ka. internship overseas, at a university or even at a multinational company. Before I started my industrial training I used to wonder if I would have some relaxation time at work to go online to check my mail and stuff. I think I wished a little too hard.

Listening to X-Japan on my PSP while ranting about this right now isn’t my version of a good job I tell ya. No matter what, I still wish to learn of new things. On how the SCADA system is implemented, the various ways that it could be done and the alternatives that could be made as a few example of what I believe should be taught. The only skill I ever dare to admit that I’ve picked up on the job is Microsoft’s Paint. I’m so bloody good in it I’m sad. This is so NOT what I signed up for.

Thinking about it, I should have just went down to New Zealand to work with my uncle. At least I might get to go for tactical weapons combat and self defense training from special forces personnel. Sigh. I’ve been learning and doing more outside the work place than in it. My weekends are usually full and my week nights is most commonly filled with meetings and appointments. The occasional yumcha session included.

The lecturer will be coming for a visit and I’m suppose to show them my log book and do a short presentation on my progress. But…what progress? I do hope they do not mean Facebook progress. Posted too late. Lecturer already came to visit. I was somewhat unprepared but it went smoothly. More or less.

I wanna learn more and go to the site for at least once so I could write a tad more in my report not to mention take more pics.

23 more days to go.

Sigh…I’m feeling depressed all over again.

Evangelion Photoshoot

September 7th, 2009

The morning right after the Death Note photoshoot I had another session the next morning with the Evangelion photoshoot. It was Merdeka day but it didn’t felt like it at all. The only other thing I felt was sleepiness.

Location:
Glenmarie, Shah Alam

Cosplayers:
Shinji Ikari: Narukids Deadfish
Kaworu Nagisa: Miyavi Honey
Misato Katsuragi: Akiko
Kaji: Wgfai

Photographer:
KCLee
Clow

Additional help and director of the arts:
Dai

This is Miyavi Honey’s set with her editing. I’m so busy right now I haven’t even converted the pictures to jpeg yet. Beside her editing sure makes my pics look freakingly awesome. My photoshop skills are limited so I can’t do much anyways.

This are my pics but only some of them. As usual there’s only minor lighting adjustments. I’m still learning how to use photoshop so it will be sometime till you get studio quality shots. Editing pictures before bedtime is so not what I’ll recommend to anyone. The temptation to sleep is overpowering.

More pics wil be uploaded at a later time.

As usual, constructive comments are always welcomed.
